RHEA, a recruitment agency specializing in the Hospitality and Food & Beverage sectors, is looking for an Executive Sous Chef – USA.

A highly ambitious Michelin-recognized fine dining restaurant, located in Los Angeles, California, is seeking a experienced Sous Chef to join an exceptional team and contribute to an ambitious and creative culinary project.
The Role
-
Oversee the evening service, managing a team of 12 in the kitchen and 5 in prep.

Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other Sous Chefs to maintain and further the restaurant’s gastronomic excellence.

Participate in the structure and development of the brigade, instilling discipline and creativity.

Strategic position with the potential to evolve into Executive Sous Chef for the ideal candidate.
Candidate Profile

Experienced Sous Chef with a background in gastronomy or fine dining.

Natural leadership and ability to manage a team with rigor and empathy.

Excellent mastery of culinary techniques and a passion for product excellence.

Creative, autonomous, organized, and motivated by a challenging and ambitious project.
Your Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Oversee culinary production and service teams, ensuring smooth operations and top-tier quality. Inspire and motivate the team by example.

Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen leadership to meet operational demands and execute requests with precision and flexibility.

Versatility: Handle diverse tasks, from preparing complex dishes to coordinating last-minute events, while maintaining the restaurant’s high standards.

Mentorship: Foster a structured yet creative environment, maintaining established systems while encouraging innovation and skill development within the team.

Quality & Organization: Ensure cleanliness, organization, and flawless execution of every dish, in line with the restaurant’s standards.

Operational Oversight: Manage administrative tasks, including inventory control, ordering, and documenting team performance.

Innovation: Bring new ideas to improve daily operations and kitchen systems.

Practical Information

Restaurant open Tuesday to Saturday, evenings only

Working hours: approximately 10–12 hours per day (55–58 hours/week)

Current team: 45 staff (kitchen and front of house)

Fluent English preferred

For international candidates: O1/O2 visa possible, housing and flight assistance negotiable

Salary: $85,000 – $90,000 per year
