RHEA, a recruitment agency specialized in the Hospitality and F&B sectors, is looking for a Sous-Chef specialized in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines in Costa Rica.

🎯 Your Mission

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for the preparation, presentation, and consistency of dishes inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines, in line with the group’s standards and Relais & Châteaux values.

This is a key role within a multicultural brigade requiring creativity, technical expertise, and strong organizational skills.

  • Restaurant open 7 days a week, lunch and dinner

  • 15–20 covers at lunch, 80 covers at dinner

  • Kitchen team of 17 members


🍽 Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and plate authentic Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes.

  • Ensure flavor balance, textures, and visual quality of the dishes.

  • Maintain mise en place, portion control, and consistency throughout service.

  • Manage stock, assist with ordering, and minimize waste through proper rotation.

  • Participate in the development of seasonal recipes, tasting menus, and themed events.

  • Maintain impeccable hygiene and organization according to Nayara standards.

  • Actively participate in culinary meetings, tastings, and continuous improvement projects.


🧑‍🍳 Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Sous-Chef in a fine dining or luxury hotel environment.

  • Solid expertise in:

    • Middle Eastern cuisine (Levantine, Turkish, Persian, or Gulf)

    • Mediterranean cuisine (Greek, Italian, North African)

  • Strong knowledge of spices, marinades, slow-cooking techniques, and traditional methods.

  • Professional level of English required; Spanish appreciated, French is a plus.

  • Ability to work effectively in an international environment.

  • Turkish or European passport preferred to facilitate visa process.


🎁 Benefits & Conditions

  • Private accommodation provided by the hotel (shared room in a large villa; possibility of individual accommodation after 2–3 months).

  • Meals included during working hours.

  • Company-provided transportation.

  • Annual bonus (1 month salary).

  • Annual flight tickets.

  • Starting net salary: USD 2,000, depending on profile and experience, quickly increasing to USD 2,700.

  • Position available ASAP.
