Job Description
RHEA Recruitment, a hospitality and restaurant recruitment agency with an international presence, is currently seeking a SOUS CHEF DE CUISINE (H/F) for one of its clients in Hong Kong.
COMPANY OVERVIEW: A French restaurant in Asia aiming for 1 Michelin star
The restaurant’s current ambition is to attain 1 Michelin star
Reporting directly to the Executive Chef/Owner, you will closely collaborate with the partner and junior sous chef, both of whom are French.
The restaurant has 18 seats, open from Thursday to Monday, with an open kitchen concept and well-equipped facilities!
Offering 4 or 6-course menus (ranging from HK$120 to HK$240 per head)
Team: two head chefs, two sous chefs, chef de partie, and commis (total of 6 kitchen staff plus two dishwashers)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervising the smooth running of meal preparations Ensuring compliance with HACCP standards Placing orders with the head chef Participating in the smooth operation of service with the teams Contributing to sourcing local products for menu development Providing support during meal preparation/service Minimizing waste Transmitting the spirit of the establishment to local cooks Capable of managing a team in English
This role requires a successful previous experience in upscale establishments (luxury hotels/gastronomic restaurants – Michelin-starred establishments) in France and ideally a first experience abroad.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Package includes airfare + visa fees 2 days off on Tuesday and Wednesday Closure for 3 weeks in August
Salary for junior position: HK$35,000 -> €4100 net/month or HK$40,000 -> €4700 net/month Estimated housing budget: HK$13,000 -> accommodation provided at the hotel for the first two/three weeks Permanent contract Shift hours (average of 10-12 hours/day) Work visa One-way economy class airfare Preferably single Starting date: as soon as possible
