Job Description
RHEA Recrutement, an international hospitality and restaurant recruitment agency, is currently seeking a PRIVATE CHEF (M/F) for one of its VIP clients:
Position: Private Chef for a VIP Family – Île de Ré
Dates: August 3rd to August 26th (3 weeks)

The role is based in a holiday residence comprising 8 bedrooms, located just 150 meters from the town center.
Responsibilities:
The chef will cook daily lunch and dinner (excluding breakfast) for a couple, and more broadly, for a family of 4 people staying in the holiday home.
Twice a week, the chef will also prepare dinner for 6 to 12 guests.

Lunch around 1:00–1:30 PM

Dinner around 8:15 PM, and 9:00 PM for the two larger dinners
The cuisine will be family-style and shared dishes (holiday spirit), with plated service for the two larger dinners.
There are no children, no allergies, but a few preferences:

Low butter and salt
-
Garlic and onion only when cooked
-
No alcohol in desserts (desserts only served when guests are present)
This family is accustomed to a high level of culinary excellence.
The chef will manage the entire food service process, including:

Cooking for 1 to 12 people

Preparing lunch and dinner daily
-
Grocery shopping each morning
-
Creating weekly menus
-
Selecting ingredients per the couple’s preferences
-
Ensuring food hygiene and safety standards (HACCP)
-
Managing inventory and stock control
-
Using only fresh, seasonal products
-
Proper food storage and preservation
-
Full kitchen cleaning and maintenance
Profile & Requirements:
-
Must have experience cooking in private households or with UHNW clients
-
Culinary training from a recognized culinary school, institution, or Michelin-starred restaurant is required
-
Must be flexible, creative, discreet, and attentive to the family’s culinary preferences
-
A genuine passion for the craft and hospitality is essential
-
Cuisine style should be simple yet refined, healthy, light, and balanced
-
Visual presentation must match the level of taste
Conditions:
-
Contract: 6 days a week for the entire duration
-
Start: August 3rd / End: August 26th

Salary: €1200 net/week

Accommodation provided (private room with bathroom in an annex)

Travel (train/bus) covered
-
Groceries to be done by bike or car provided
The ideal chef must:
-
Preferably hold auto-entrepreneur status
-
Have a clean criminal record in both the country of employment and country of origin

Provide all certificates and diplomas (to be verified with schools/training centers)

Submit a presentation book/portfolio of dishes
-
Provide at least three references from previous employers
