RHEA, a recruitment agency specializing in the Hospitality and Catering industries, is pleased to announce the following position:

Head Housekeeper (M/F)

Join an ultra-luxurious private estate exclusively dedicated to VIP stays and events, featuring three opulent houses and one apartment, with a total of 18 suites and rooms. The estate is open from late May to late August.

Responsibilities:

As the Head Housekeeper, you will lead a team of 10 housekeepers in a new luxury private estate located in Provence, surrounded by vineyards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising a team of 10 housekeepers.
  • Preparing suites, including room setup and linen management.
  • Assisting with recruitment and delivering training in collaboration with the Assistant Head Housekeeper.
  • Organizing daily routines, adapting to guest and estate requirements, managing the team, and holding daily staff meetings.
  • Conducting daily inspections of common areas and rooms to maintain top-quality standards.
  • Managing the laundry department and demonstrating in-depth knowledge of its operations.
  • Monitoring linen and product inventories and implementing procedures to maintain equipment.
  • Overseeing the cleaning of staff accommodations.

Candidate Profile:

  • Driver’s license with a personal vehicle is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in management roles within 4-star hotels or luxury private residences for VVIPs (both preferred).
  • Physically fit: the 18 suites are spread across multiple buildings, covering 3,500 m² of interior space with facilities such as a gym, cinema, and spa.
  • Ready to prepare for the estate’s 4th operational season.
  • Collaborative mindset: work closely with the permanent Assistant Head Housekeeper and First Housekeeper to enhance their skills.
  • Ability to train and work with inexperienced staff.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, with a willingness to collaborate with other departments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail for daily inspections of rooms and communal areas.
  • Hands-on attitude, including occasional evening turndown service.
  • Professional demeanor, capable of interacting with guests, and ensuring team presentation standards.
  • Proficiency in managing the laundry department is a plus.
  • Experience in packing/unpacking, clothes steaming, and providing training in these areas.
  • Liaising with florists.
  • Effective time management and forward planning based on guest reservations.
  • Adherence to confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Fluent French required; English highly valued for guest interactions.
  • Non-smokers preferred.
  • Availability to work 5 weeks with only one day off per week (June 28 to August 3) during the owners’ stay.

Conditions:

  • Salary: €4,000 gross per month.
  • Accommodation: Initially provided on-site, followed by shared villa accommodation 15 minutes away for 5–6 weeks.
  • Meals: Lunch or dinner provided during guest visits on working days.

Dates: Late April to late August
