R&D Chef / Head of Culinary Development & Event Cuisine – Paris


Position overview

In a context of strong growth and with the founder currently focused on several strategic projects, the brand is looking for an R&D Chef / Head of Culinary Development & Event Cuisine.

A true cornerstone of culinary creation and operational excellence, this key position embodies innovation, technical mastery, and hands-on execution. It combines the design and development of new gastronomic experiences, the management of event kitchen operations, as well as a central client-facing role during receptions and key company events.


Key responsibilities

1. Research & Development (R&D)

  • Design and develop new culinary creations adapted to event catering services
  • Conduct food and trend monitoring (products, techniques, event formats)
  • Test and validate recipes in R&D kitchen and real event conditions
  • Optimize technical sheets (costing, organization, quality, reproducibility)

2. Tastings & client representation (2–4 per week)

  • Lead tasting and validation sessions with clients
  • Present culinary creations during event design phases
  • Adapt proposals based on client feedback and event constraints
  • Represent the company’s gastronomic identity during presentations

3. Operational presence at events

  • Be present at major events and strategic receptions
  • Supervise execution and service quality alongside the catering head chef
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and brand standards
  • Support operational teams when required

4. Event kitchen leadership

  • Manage and support the Event Head Chef
  • Structure and organize event kitchen teams
  • Ensure proper execution of all catering operations
  • Guarantee alignment between creation, production, and service

5. Coordination & cross-functional role

  • Act as the key link between the Project Manager and the Event Head Chef
  • Ensure communication between production, creative, and event planning teams
  • Participate in planning and optimization of events
  • Make culinary decisions based on technical and client constraints

Profile required

  • Proven experience in high-end gastronomy or luxury event catering
  • Strong culinary creativity and production management skills
  • Experience in kitchen team management
  • Strong interpersonal skills and client-facing ability
  • Rigorous, organized, and highly adaptable
  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail

Position scope

  • Key strategic role within the organization
  • Interface between management, production, and project teams
  • Representative of the culinary signature of VT Event Catering

Conditions

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Salary: €40,000 – €55,000
  • Executive status
  • Mainly weekday-based position (90% of events take place during the week)
  • Possible travel in the South of France or internationally for large events
