Job Description
RHEA Recruitment, an international hospitality and catering recruitment agency, is looking for one of its clients to fill the position of:
HEAD BAKER (M/F) – 5-Star Luxury Hotel – Indian Ocean

Main Responsibilities:

Supervise a bakery team of 3 people (1 Pastry Chef, 2 Commis)

Produce around 50 different types of bread / manage equipment / all pastries and breads are homemade
-
Master all production steps of breads according to technical sheets (kneading, shaping, dividing)

Ensure quality control of products

Participate in preparation, finishing, and baking of products
-
Ensure compliance with hygiene standards and shelf life regulations

Fully clean the bakery area

Assist the production manager
Conditions:

Base salary: USD $36,000 per year + bonuses
-
Annual leave: 30 paid days per year including economy flight ticket

Rest day: 1 day off per week
-
Public holidays: 11 days per year
Additional Benefits:

Annual R&R bonus of $500 USD

Stewardship sales commission of $100 USD per month

Candidate Profile:

Preferably single, without children
-
Age between 30 and 40 years old

French nationality required + English mandatory

Experience in starred and/or 5-star luxury establishments

Currently a head baker or sous chef baker for at least 2 years
Contract:

1 year initially (negotiable)
