RHEA Recruitment – High-end Hospitality and Restaurant Recruitment Agency is looking internationally for a:

“Head Back of the House” / DOP / GM (M/F) in San Francisco

The concept revolves around Comfort Food with three main focuses: Bakery established in 2018, the opening of the new restaurant in March 2024 (cuisine DNA: French, American, and Asian), and the Food Market section (present in 20 markets across the San Francisco Bay Area).

The idea is to bring innovation without revolutionizing things!!

Simplicity and efficiency are the keywords!!

You will work in tandem with the French executive chef and report to the group owner and founder. You are responsible for the smooth operation of the various outlets from Menlo Park to Palo Alto.

You will contribute to the group’s development. Currently, there is a production laboratory for the bakery section, a restaurant in Menlo Park currently open from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (the evening format will come later), and another restaurant opening in Palo Alto at a university. In a third stage, there are plans to open another communal space as part of a food market concept (similar to Felicita in Paris).

The challenge is to break norms to create a new model designed for and by the teams, accompanying them daily to evolve in a fulfilling work environment.

Responsibilities:

Team Management:

Training & Team Management Recruitment management (growing structure) with the support of the Executive Chef Communication of objectives and news Operational Excellence:

Ensure the smooth operation of the outlets Responsible for the customer experience Main contact for all support functions to deploy action plans and report malfunctions P&L responsibility Key Missions:

Manage all activities of beverage and food outlets Ensure effective communication between all outlets and other departments (production, kitchen, dining room, delivery service, and market vendors) Recruit, manage, train, and ensure the professional development of the restaurant/outlet team Ensure brand standards are maintained Encourage team members to optimize sales and revenue Conduct annual and semi-annual evaluations with your superiors Evaluate customer satisfaction with a focus on continuous improvement Optimize sales and contain costs by identifying areas requiring intervention Set achievable short and long-term functional objectives for each outlet Handle staff performance issues in accordance with company policies and procedures Ensure all outlets are well maintained Assist other departments as needed and maintain good working relationships Perform other related tasks as requested by the executive chef and/or owner Profile:

To carry out this mission successfully, we are looking for someone who:

Has over 10 years of experience in the restaurant industry in the United States, particularly 5 years in California, but is still young enough in their career to seek a big dream to build.

Perfectly masters English and American culture (as this role will involve recruiting and managing people on the team, this part seems very important);

Ideally, also has an MBA or another advanced professional degree from an American university. Having a high level of articulation and analytical/executive ability is very important.

A plus: Multi-site experience and/or experience in the delivery market are highly appreciated

Proactive, organized, with a team spirit and a strong inclination for practical work

Conditions:

Salary: Between 90K for a junior profile and 120/130K for an experienced profile. Package: Work visa or green card already in hand / health paid by the company. Potentially, housing assistance depending on the profile. CDD E2 or O1 Contract -> a desire for long term (ideally already holding a green card or work visa) Position available as soon as possible, interview with the Owner and French Executive Chef via video conference through ZOOM.
