RHEA Recruitment, a recruitment agency specializing in hospitality and catering recruitment internationally, is seeking for one of its clients:

PASTRY COOK (M/F) USA West Coast

Main Mission:

The Pastry Chef will be responsible for producing pastries for several points of sale, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production volumes. He/She will need to ensure the freshness, presentation, and taste of the products offered in the store.

Your team consists of 6 people in pastry and 4 in the bakery department.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Daily Production: Carry out large-scale production of pastries (tarts, cakes, desserts, viennoiseries) according to provided recipes and technical sheets.
  • Recipe Compliance: Strictly follow recipe sheets and procedures to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks of raw materials and finished products before shipping to the store.
  • Baking Management: Oversee and manage different baking processes depending on the product (bread, viennoiseries, tarts, etc.).
  • Hygiene Standards: Ensure the application of food hygiene and safety standards (HACCP).
  • Innovation: Contribute to the creation and development of new recipes or seasonal variations for the shops.
  • Stock Management: Work with the team to ensure proper management of raw materials and optimize production costs.

Desired Profile:

  • Education: CAP/BEP in Pastry or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in pastry, ideally in a production workshop or for specialized shops.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Mastery of basic pastry techniques (dough, creams, ganaches, etc.).
    • Good management of large-scale production volumes.
    • Ability to work with large-scale production equipment.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
  • Personal Qualities:
    • Precision and attention to detail in your work.
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Creativity and passion for pastry.
    • Strong team spirit and respect for instructions.

Working Conditions:

  • Production environment with standing work.
  • Flexible hours depending on production needs (night, early morning, or day shifts).
  • Adherence to production deadlines and quotas according to the needs of the stores.

Conditions:

  • Start Date: As soon as possible (ASAP) – expect a minimum of 2 months for visa processing.
  • Salary: $48,000 per year (before taxes), + housing allowance of $9,000 (total package of $57,000). (Independent room in staff accommodation, located 5 minutes from the lab.)
  • One-way plane ticket.
  • Health insurance: 50% covered through Kaiser.
  • 2 weeks of paid vacation per year (variable depending on the year), 5 working days per week.

Regarding the visa (allow 3 months for the E2), the company will sponsor your visa, but you will need to advance the cost, which will be partially reimbursed monthly and fully reimbursed if you stay for 24 months. (E2 Visa: $4000-4300, valid for 4 years and renewable)
