RHEA Recruitment, a recruitment agency specializing in hospitality and catering internationally, is actively seeking an experienced PASTRY SOUS CHEF or JUNIOR PASTRY CHEF for one of its clients in Newark, CA, USA.

You will have the privileged opportunity to work in an ideally located laboratory serving four prestigious boutiques, where your professional ambitions will flourish in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere. Under the guidance of the French Executive Chef and the French Owner, your mission will be to meticulously supervise the production and preparation of pastries while also overseeing the bakery section. The pastry boutiques, inspired by the famous Parisian cafes, offer an elegant ambiance that showcases the authenticity and refinement of French culinary tradition. Your team will consist of 6 people in pastry and 4 in bakery.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

PRODUCTION:
Ensure adherence to the production schedule established by the Executive Chef
Supervise and control the production of all preparations, assemblies, and finishes (pastry and bakery)
Ensure compliance with recipe cards

MANAGEMENT:
Lead, support, and train the production team
Act as a substitute for the Executive Chef in their absence
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards

ADMINISTRATIVE:
Allocate 20% of your time to back-office tasks, with proficiency in Excel for inventory management, orders, etc.

Your profile:
You have proven experience as a Confirmed Pastry Sous Chef or Junior Pastry Chef and are driven by a passion for your profession. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of Spanish is a plus. You are known for your attention to detail and your ability to work with finesse.

Conditions:
Start date: as soon as possible (ASAP) -> it takes a minimum of 3 months to obtain the visa
Salary: $55,000-65,000 per year (excluding taxes) with accommodation in an independent room in the staff house, located 5 minutes from the laboratory.

One meal per day at your workplace covered
Work schedule: 5 days out of 7 (from 03:30 to 13:00)

Visa:
The company offers an E-2 Visa within the company, which currently costs $4300. Refund conditions are provided based on the departure time.
-The company will refund 50% of the total cost for the first year, which is $180 per month
-then 50% of the remainder the following year, which is $180 per month.

Thus, if you reach 24 months in the company, the visa-related fees will be fully refunded.
